1. Buffy. Oh gosh, I know. I made fun of Emily and everyone who likes this show for oh so long and then bam, Stephenie Meyer forces me to develop a non creepy obsession with Vampirism. Jess got me seasons 1&2 for my birthday but I am already through season four. Its just plain awesome. I am still very embarrassed.
I do find this picture a little creepy though. There are just too many muscles here. Spike is HILARIOUS though. Love it.
2. The Killers and Keane, especially these two songs.
3. Madeleine L'Engle:
I am currently reading A Swiftly Tilting Planet, the third book in the Wrinkle in TIme series and I just bought A Circle of Quiet which is the first book in an adult fic series, I guess. Very excited.
I love the movie About a Boy...and I am sure the book is great too...basically I just love anything with Hugh Grant. I could care less if he is a philandering Englishman, he is so adorable.
This is how I work:
Will: I find the key is to think of a day as units of time, each unit consisting of no more than thirty minutes. Full hours can be a little bit intimidating and most activities take about half an hour. Taking a bath: one unit, watching countdown: one unit, web-based research: two units, exercising: three units, having my hair carefully disheveled: four units. It's amazing how the day fills up, and I often wonder, to be absolutely honest, if I'd ever have time for a job; how do people cram them in?
I am all about units. Well, that is what I am going to call them now. Today I have a lot of different things to fill my units with until I go to work at six.
Cleaning the bathroom and my car = 1 unit each
Laundry= 2 units
Writing = 2 units
Getting ready for work= 2 units
Reading Sweet Far Thing = 6 units dispersed between other lamer units.
Let's get this party started!
Double feature today. Not as awesome as all the others I have seen lately.
Charlie Wilson's War- I fully admit to knowing nothing about military history, or basically anything that happened before 2005 in the entire world. I live in the now, what can I say? Tom Hanks is just so darn cute. I saw his butt, and let me tell you it was much easier to look at then Julia Roberts with that awful blond dye job. Yikes. Phillip Seymor Hoffman is pretty much the coolest duder ever.
Leaving the movie:
Erin: Um, I don't think I am smart enough to see movies like that.
Tom:(makes universal sign for something going over ones head)
Either the public school system failed us both miserably or....yeah, lets just blame it on the schools.
P.S. I Love You- Nothing like leaving a movie feeling bitter and alone. Awesome. All I can hear is that clock ticking until I turn 26. Damn. Does anyone else look at Hilary Swank and think "damn, that horse can act"? That was mean. See my bitterness shining through?
Whatever. I got new jeans. At least I am bitter and alone in a smaller size.
...you've seen them all.
I have been to basically every movie showing in the theater right now, besides Alien vs. Predator, and I don't really see that happening. I can honestly say I have enjoyed every single one!
Atonement: Beautiful, Awesome, Depressing 4.5/5
Juno: I love love love that girl. She is hilarious. Laughed a lot and cried a smidgen at the end. 5/5
Alvin and the Chipmunks: Pissed that I had to go in the first place, but ended up laughing a lot. I am thinking of starting a chipmunk singing group. It is a very soothing sound. We will need to have many helium tanks on hand. 4/5
I Am Legend x2: I love Will Smith, plain and simple. Anything he does I am sure to enjoy. The Shrek part was pretty funny. Also cried a little both times 3.5/5
Sweeney Todd x2: First time I wasnt sure that I loved it but then I couldnt get the music out of my head. Bought the soundtrack and the second time, loved it even more. 4/5
Walk Hard: Penises were present. 3/5
This week? Charlie Wilson's War and P.S. I Love You.
I have a new book/movie theory.
I will no longer be reading books before I see the movie.
My reasoning...
1. There is, of course, the constant disappointment(see Golden Compass below).
2. As a bookseller, by avoiding the books of the movies and only reading books that are not being made into movies, but then seeing the movies made from the books, I will expand my literary knowledge because I won't be wasting my time reading the books but just get the gist from the film...whew. This will also lead to me being less pissed off upon leaving the movie theatre.
Yesiree.
So we saw the Golden Compass last night. It was completely out of order, so much missing and the end was just ugh! So lame!
I am also seeing I Am Legend, and Atonement this week! But I have not read those books so I am sure I will love them both.
I am going to watch every movie on the AFI top 100 movies of all time list, that I haven't already seen. Think I can do it? Care to join me?

The movies I have seen are in bold....see there are very few of them. eek! I am watching Schindlers list right now.
I guess I really just don't understand what is going on here.
In my imagination the pitch went something like this...
"Okay here is my idea. We get four A listers....well...maybe one A lister, two A- listers and a B lister, that probably will have no chemistry together, put them on motorcycles and have them run into stuff and vice versa. The story basically writes itself!"
I think it would be quite a feat to ruin four careers in one foul swoop.
Bill Macy...why do you torture me so?
So I am a little ashamed to admit this but my favorite store at the mall is the calendar store. I LOVE calendars and they just went 75% off...hello! Over the last month I have purchased a Leonardo DaVinci, Barbie, Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, and Hello Kitty calendars. My mom also got me a cat desk calendar as a joke but I secretly kinda like it.
Anyway...on one of my trips to the calendar store I got this fun book...
I have added so many movies to my Blockbuster queue...
1. Annie Hall
2. The Bachelor
3. Cousins
4. Only You
5. The Shop Around the Corner
I'm pretty psyched.
